Admissions

Choosing a private independent school education is a thoughtful decision made by parents on behalf of their children. Differences in value systems, philosophical beliefs and teaching methodologies exist widely between schools and school systems. For over 35+ years, Upland Hills School has always had a long term view of education. No child is left behind because the emphasis, from day one is always on a child's whole well being in learning. A student, alone or in community with others is always at the center of understanding. This view point takes in the empirical impact of educational decisions and choices as well as meets the day to day curriculum needs of the student.

Parents and Teachers work in alignment on behalf of the child. This includes a parental role in the supporting activities that take place at the school. The community building and fundraising activities that surround the school are also enriching opportunities for the student's family. Life long learning is encouraged through school programming opportunities, theatre productions and the work offered at the neighboring Ecological Awareness Center.

Upland Hills School welcomes diversity of religion, race and ethnic origins. We do not discriminate on the basis of sex, color, religion, race, national or ethnic origin in the administration of our educational policies, admissions policies, or school-administered programs.

Upland Hills School is a member of the AIMS: Association of Independent Michigan Schools and NCACS: The National Coalition of Alternative Community Schools.

For information on Independent Schools check the ISACS; Independent Schools Association of Central States. web site.
